The eleven rooms inn is located in a quite residential neighborhood, but within easy walking distance of the restaurants and activity in New Town. You should opt for at least one meal in the cozy dining room as the menu, although as diminutive as it residence, offers more an enticing italian than many of Quito's trattorias...

Admire the two-foot thick walls as you pass from room to room. A good choice, and a LARC recommendation, is the Hostal de La Rábida, in the north part of the city. The building was once a private home, but since 1994 has operated as an 11 rooms hotel. Congenial owner and very accessible hostess is Nora Giraldi, an Italian transplant to Ecuador. The house has the air of a gracious past, with hard wood floors and closet armoires...

...The intimate restaurant, wich looks out onto the courtyard, serves breakfast and dinner with continental cuisine and service...

Judy, Sergio and their staff made our family trip to Quito absolutely wonderful! Our group of 6 adults and 6 children was treated superbly during our stay at the lovely and well appointed Hostal de La Rabida.

Our comfortable rooms were perfect for the couples and the groups of children. The dining room was delightful with a delectable array of menu choices for breakfast and dinner--all delicious and well prepared. When we had an early morning departure, we had "breakfast bags" to take with us. How cosy it was to be able to spend time in the living room of our "home away from home" in front of a roaring fire, with a glass of wine.

Judy attended to our every need during our stay in Quito. She arranged for reliable airport transfers and set up our tours to the Equator and Colonial Quito with vans and tour guides who spoke English and were very knowledgeable. When we needed dinner reservations, she recommended a restaurant and made our arrangements. No matter what we required, Judy and her accommodating staff were there to make sure we were well taken care of.

Our stay at Hostal de La Rabida before and after our Galapagos Adventures was perfect in every way. What a special way for us to share with our children and grandchildren the exciting city of Quito.
